Gluten-Free Chocolate Peanut Butter Fondue Recipe for Dipping

Have fun with the family while enjoying this chocolate peanut butter fondue. Almost everything tastes delicious dipped in this rich, gluten-free sauce. I’ve paired it with a selection of gluten-free dippers for a festive dessert spread. Thanks to Udi’s Gluten Free for sponsoring this recipe as part of our year-long partnership.

Fondue makes a fun family dessert or a simple party centerpiece. Earlier I shared a non-alcoholic, gluten-free cheese fondue; this recipe is the sweet counterpart: a chocolate peanut butter fondue that’s easy to prepare and perfect for sharing. You can enjoy both savory and sweet fondue nights for variety.

My kids asked to make family fondue night a regular event. They love dipping cookies, fruit, and pretzels into this creamy sauce. It’s great for holidays like Christmas, New Year’s, and Valentine’s Day, and also works wonderfully over ice cream for a summer treat.

I like offering a variety of gluten-free dippers so guests can mix sweet, salty, and fruity flavors. Serve items whole, halved, or pre-skewered on sticks for easy dipping.

The sweet dippers I chose included several gluten-free cookies from Udi’s and Glutino. Udi’s Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies and Udi’s Gluten Free Peanut Butter Coconut Cookies were both excellent for dunking into the fondue.

For a salty contrast, I used Glutino Gluten Free Pretzels.

For fresh fruit, I sliced tart apples, which balance the sweet fondue nicely—choose a variety that resists browning, like Pink Lady or Braeburn. We also served red strawberries and banana chunks. To keep fruit looking fresh, wait to slice apples and bananas until right before serving.

This fondue comes together quickly: just five ingredients and about five minutes on the stove. Melt everything in a saucepan, then transfer to a fondue pot or a serving bowl. A fondue pot with a small flame will keep the sauce at a dippable consistency; if you don’t use one, the fondue will thicken as it cools and can be loosened by reheating briefly.

Notes on ingredients:

  • Chocolate – Choose milk, semi-sweet, or dark chocolate depending on your preference. Semi-sweet is a reliable choice. Use chunks, bars, or morsels.
  • Peanut butter – Use a good-quality, salted, creamy peanut butter for the best texture and flavor.
  • Milk – Whole milk works well for a smooth, rich sauce. 1–2% milk should also work. I haven’t tested dairy-free milks in this recipe; if you try one, please share your results.

Kid-friendly Gluten-free Chocolate Peanut Butter Fondue

If you want to moderate portions for kids, offer small plates so each child can choose a few dippers. I used this method for my youngest and filled his plate twice to balance variety and portion control.

Let me know if you try this fondue and what your favorite dippers were.
